COVID-19: Family Update

How all of this has affected my family: Steve’s main ministry of traveling and sharing at conferences has come to a stand still. His work that he mostly retired from is needing him more and more. He will have worked 5, 12 hour ER shifts in this one week alone. He is being briefed on covid19 procedures and going through drills. My dad (86) who normally runs frequent daily errands is now staying put. I know he is anxious to resume his normal life. But Daddy has told me how he really appreciates how everyone is coming together on Facebook, he loves keeping up with everyone! Steve’s dad hasn’t really noticed much difference, but if we consider that he could be living in a nursing home now instead of our home, we wouldn’t be able to see him, and I don’t think he would understand why. Both of our dear dads in our home make my heart ache for those whose parents and grandparents are quarantined who can’t see their loved ones. Patrick is in his senior year, and may not have a graduation ceremony. William had been working so hard on his theater production of Pinnochio which has been postponed and we don’t know when or if it will happen. (In the meantime he and his little sister have been making amazing home video productions!) Four of my sons and one of my son-in-laws are now working from home, two of those have little ones running around which I’m sure makes their work more challenging!! My oldest daughter is still working in hospice care so this is making her work much different and more difficult. My second daughters gym was closed where she is a personal trainer. Our son in Dallas doing his residency is now sent home to stay healthy. Our youngest isn’t impacted much beyond not getting together with her friends from school and gymnastics. I’m thankful the kids and I aren’t strangers to doing school at home. We are all sharing in common this strange new restricted lifestyle. We should let each other know how to pray more specifically for our families and our friends who are single and one other. We do have more opportunities to pray now, and reach out to one another “digitally”! 😉❤️🥰
